MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program for African Students : The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program aims to prepare young people to be agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. Scholars attend a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their KPMG Female Founders in Africa Competition 2025degrees.

MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program for African Students at AUB

The Mastercard Foundation is an international non-governmental organization established by Mastercard in 2006. The organization, which is based in Toronto, Ontario, has supported work in 49 countries. In 2018, Mastercard Foundation shifted to a specific focus on Africa, through its Young Africa Works strategy. The foundation develops programs primarily focused on reducing gender and economic inequality, expanding access to quality education, increasing the opportunities for decent work, and supporting overall economic growth.

Requirements for Scholarship Program Qualification

On-campus masters’ scholarships are open to:

  1. Citizens of countries on the African Continent
  2. Citizens of Lebanon
  3. Refugees living in Lebanon or on the African Continent

PhD scholarships are open to:

  • Citizens of countries on the African Continent
  • Refugees living on the African Continent

How to Apply

For the on-campus scholarship:

  • Complete an AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by the deadline.
  • Select the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under the Financial Opportunities section of the online graduate application.
  • Complete the AUB Financial Aid Application, which will be accessible, within 1-3 working days, after you ?submit your Graduate Admission Application. You will receive, within 1-3 days, an automated email from the financial aid office informing you of your access rights once the financial aid application has been activated.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: For an application to be considered complete, applicants must have completed (1) the AUB online graduate application and (2) the AUB Financial Aid Application.

online scholarship:

  • Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by May 16?, 2025.
  • Submit RUSE  scores by June 20, 2025.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: For an application to be considered complete, applicants must have completed (1) the AUB online graduate application and (2) submit RUSE scores.
